David HOLBROOK Obituary
It is with profound heartache that we announce the peaceful passing at home of David William Holbrook, surrounded by his loving family, on February 1, 2016 in his 63rd year. Predeceased by his late wife, Donna Holbrook (nee Marion), and his parents Sybil and Lawrence Holbrook. David is survived by his beloved spouse, and soul mate, Kate (nee Holt). Adored and adoring stepfather of Chris Dobson (Jaana) and Debbie DesRoches (Ken) from Donna, and Kim (Jonathan) and Tyler Lancaster from Kate. Proud and doting Grandpa of Taylor, Logan, Eli, Charlie and Tuulia. David was a giant among men, a friend indeed, and marked everyone who met him with his openness, gentleness, and generosity. He knew what was important and cleaved to it tight. His family will receive visitors with pleasure at the

3440 Richmond Road, Nepean
on Friday, February 5 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m., and on Saturday, February 6 from 1 p.m. until time of Service which will be held in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception. Special thanks to the staff of the OICC, Dr. Derek Jonker and the staff of the Ottawa Hospital & Irving Greenburg Cancer Centres, and the Carefor nurses who all supported David throughout his journey. Memorial donations can be made in support of cancer research at the Ottawa Hospital through the Ottawa Hospital Foundation or to the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre. I have known David now for almost 10 years and throughout that time I got to know a very loving, caring and gentle man with a big heart. Not a mean bone in his body. He will be missed by many and remembered forever. My deepest condolences to his family and close friends which I am sure are many.
