1931 - 2017
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of David MacDougall, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He passed away peacefully, at the age of 86, surrounded by his family.
Dave will be fondly remembered and cherished by his loving wife Caroline of 53 years; his children Gregory, Janet (Kelvin) Lien, Julie, Christine (Dan) Froment, Sarah; eight grandchildren, Tara, Christine, Meaghan, Luke, Sophie, Victoria, Michael, Matthew; three great-grandchildren Finley, Sullivan and Oakes.
David was predeceased by his parents, John and Janet MacDougall; siblings Bob Morrison, Janet (Nancy) Reid and Ian MacDougall; daughter-in-law Alicia MacDougall.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 9420-163 Street NW, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Dave, to Diabetes Canada, www.diabetes.ca or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.ca.

My sympathies to the MacDougall family. I was fortunate enough to be one of his St.Anderw's students. He was a fine and honorable man who left a lasting impression on his students.

It is with great sadness that we learned of David passing. David and I were both graduates of St. Joseph High School, became teachers/educators with ECSD, and served together on ECSD School Board. When I first started teaching, David shared with me his grade nine Science notes and it was his friendly leadership as Board Chairman that guided me through my first years on the Board. Our love and prayers to his wife, Carol and his family.

Condolences to Mr. MacDougall's family. I had the good fortune of having him as an excellent teacher at St. Andrew school, and again saw him at a St. Andrew reunion in 2002. He was a wonderful gentlemen.

Dave was one of the first to welcome me to ECSD in 1990. He along with Chris and the team at St Kevins (student services) offered insights and wisdom. He will be missed and I hope that family find comfort in knowing he was much loved and treasured by so many.

Caroline and Family: I have known and worked with Dr Dave since 1970. He was a "Senator" for ECS in so many roles: Teacher, Counselor, Asst Supt, ATA Local President and more. Dave always had a big smile and eyes that twinkled a message of,".you don't know what I am up to, do you??" When you look back at his accomplishments, it was always through collaborative and cooperative work. We have lost a dear friend and colleague, but we give thanks for the all of the interactions we had ... Blessings

Dave was my Grade 5 teacher at St Andrews in his first year of teaching. He made a a huge impact on my life. Some years later after teaching a few years, I earned a Masters at the University of Oregon and became a school counselor. Without him ever knowing it, Dr Dave inspired me. My condolences to his family.

My sincere condolences to Mr. MacDougall's family. He was my Grade 7 teacher at St. Andrew's School. My Classmates and I were happy that he attended our Grade 9 Reunion in 2002. There are many memories of him during our Junior High years at St. Andrews. He will be sadly missed but will live on in the hearts of many!
