Porteous (South Shields) Peacefully at home on June 7th, aged 94 years. David (Retired Maths Teacher at Laygate, Redwell and Mortimer Road Schools) Beloved husband of the late Kathleen, father of Keith and Colin, grandad of Megan and Rowan and great grandad of Heidi, Robert and Arthur. Funeral service will take place in St Michael and All Angel's Church, Westoe on Thursday June 18th at 12.15pm prior to cremation in South Shields Crematorium at 1pm. No flowers by request, donations in lieu to Cancer Research UK.

A truly great teacher. He was gifted with the ability to everything he explained clear and it was inspirational to listen to him. We have lost a very nice man and a real gentleman.
