NORTHFIELD - David Pearson Radebaugh, 90, of Main St. Northfield, died Wednesday evening (3-14-2018) at Charlene Manor Healthcare in Greenfield. He was born in Greenfield, Ma., on November 5, 1927, the son of John and Olive (Lewis) Radebaugh. He was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School, and then graduated from Boston University School of Business Administration. He served in the US Army during WWII at Ft. Devens, MA, then Ft. Knox, Ky., and then Tokyo, Japan, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
He held several positions in banking in Pittsfield, and Springfield, Ma. He was operating officer, Treasurer, and Director of the Springfield Co Op Bank. He was also a commercial and industrial Real Estate broker. He was the founder and owner of Tech Roofing Service, Inc. in Springfield, Ma. He and his wife Judith owned and operated Northfield Antiques for 33 years. He served as a Trustee of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Northfield, was a planning board member in Northfield and a former member of the Rotary Club in Springfield, Ma. He loved sailing and racing his Tornado Catamaran sailboat. He also loved to travel, play tennis, where he was happiest when he was winning, play squash, and scuba dive. He was married on May 24, 1973 to the former Judith Webster in Orleans, Ma.
He is survived by his wife Judith, and children: David B. and his wife Dianne of Belchertown, Ma. Nancy Caldwell of Auburn, Ca., Paul A. of East Longmeadow, Ma. and his step children Eric Smith, Karla Tindell and husband Steve. He is also survived by his grandchildren Laura Helms and her husband Tom, Kate Sypek and her husband Kevin, Alissa Caldwell, Alec Caldwell, Erica Radebaugh, Courtney Smith, Alex Young and Emily Young, and great grandchildren Zoe Helms, Pheobe Smith, Emma Helms, and Everly Seypk and Achilles. He is also survived by his brother Dr. John Radebaugh. He was predeceased by his sister June Hall, and step son Scott Smith.
A memorial service will be held at a time and date to be announced.
