He was a lifetime member of the Foursquare Church in Knox City which his grandparents, the Reverends Floyd and Jewel Bailey, were the pastors for 35 years.

David is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Beverly Speck, a sister, Carol Judiscak and Joe, a brother, Danny Speck and Sherry, his other mother Karen Speck, his children: Elisha Gromatzky and husband, Ryan, David Kyle Speck, Speck, Shana Marin, Melanie Grindstaff and Sam, Dwayne Chaney, 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 2015, at Foursquare Church with Gary Schnable officiating. i graduated from knox city high, but am enough older than david that i have trouble placing him. i have no trouble, however, picking up the love, caring, and respect shown here by his family, friends, and professional associates. he was clearly a man who made a difference wherever he went.

i tip my hat to david ray speck with the utmost of respect and am sorry i didn't know him better. it was clearly my loss.

I would like to offer my deepest condolences to David's friends and family. He was great man and will certainly be missed. Many of us worked for him over the years, and we all had an enormous amount of respect for him. He is pretty much a legend in oil filed circles. It won't be the same out here without him.
