David Steinberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 19 to Jan. 20, 2023.

Lifetime wing man, devoted husband, dad, grandfather and friend, David died just short of his 83rd birthday on January 16, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, New York to Ethel and Nathan Steinberg, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Harriette M. Steinberg. He was a loving father to his daughters Robin (deceased) and Sharyn Konick, son-in-law Todd Konick and twin grandchildren, Kendall and Riley.

David served in the United States Army as a military policeman at the onset of the Vietnam war and was part of the effort to desegregate the University of Mississippi in 1963. In the 1970's he championed the paradigm shift for women entering the workforce and continued to advocate for gender equality throughout his life and career in the women's garment industry.

Known to family and friends as a gentle, kind and authentic man, David will be missed by all.

To Harriette and family - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. While I didn't know David, I know Harriette's eyes sparkled when she spoke of him. I hope you are all able to find comfort in the wonderful memories you have of him.

So sorry for your loss. I didn´t really know David having met him only once but I knew my brother Hal thought the world of him.
