Steiner, David 4/23/1941 - 2/18/2021 Belmont David Leo Steiner ,age 79, passed away in Belmont Michigan on Thursday February 18,2021. Dave loved spending time with his family and many friends , and playing, coaching and watching all sports especially the Red Wings. He especially loved watching his grandchildren's sports events. He also loved local history and served as the Director of the Hyser Rivers MuseumThough somewhat small in stature, Dave had a big heart. He was always willing to help those in need. Friends called hm the "Blue Bird Whisperer" for the care and attention he provided the families of blue birds living in the nests he provided. Shay and family, we recently learned of Dave’s passing. I grew up knowing Dave as one of the guys that hung around with my brother David. I’ll always remember how Dave was so friendly and loved to chat. He was a good man, that says it all. God bless and keep you in his care.

When my dad, Jerry Lane passed away. Mr. Steiner told me wonderful stories about my dad and their friendship. He gave me beautiful memories of my dad. He would check in on me to make sure I was ok. He was so kind, gentle and loving. Truly one of a kind.
My dad would have been so proud of how he filled my heart with joy!
Now, even though my heart is deeply sadden and my heart goes out to his family. I can’t help, but think how excited my dad must have been to see one of his dearest friends.
A beautiful human that touched so many lives.
My condolences to his family and friends!

Just wanted to reach out to the family to let you know how much I enjoyed working with Dave years ago at Veneklasen. I worked for Jack V for only a few summers while in school but was always grateful if I was on Dave's crew. My brother Steve who was a superintendent along with Dave at Veneklasen thought he was top notch as well.

Dave was a "walking history book" and was especially knowledgeable on the history of northeast GR, the Village of Plainfield and the Comstock Park areas. I would sometimes have the pleasure of chatting with him at church. And of course, he was a regular contributor to local history groups on facebook. His humor was fantastic, and we often traded puns and funny sayings. I will miss Dave Steiner. A good man. My prayers are with his family and friends, asking God to help them through this difficult time. May God bless all of you.

Scott:
My accept our deepest condolences on the loss of your dad. We only had a few opportunities to interact with him over the years. He was always very friendly and talkative. I recall discussing with him in depth, the plight of the Red Wings back in the late 1980’s. He was a very knowledgeable hockey fan.
