TRAUTMAN
DAVID A.
Of New Wilmington, PA, passed away on February 18, 2017. He was born on October 8, 1932, in Coraopolis, PA to George Jacob and Anna Heinlein Trautman. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Grace Kocay and Vera Mae Percy, and survived by his brother, George Warren (Helen) Trautman of South Carolina. Dave graduated from West Allegheny High School in 1950 and earned his BA from Westminster College in 1954. He married Margaret Ann Campbell in 1952. They have four children: Kenneth David Trautman (Linda Jones), Diane (John) Phillips, Karen (James) Gay, and Joy (David) Fisher. They have 11 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dave worked for over 40 years as a salesman and office manager at various steel companies: Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Wheeling - Pittsburgh, Olsher Metals and Reynolds Services. From birth to 1985, Dave was an active member of Montours Presbyterian Church in Oakdale, PA. He served as an elder, Clerk of Session, on many committees, and as a choir member. They moved to New Wilmington in 1985 where David continued as an active member of New Wilmington Presbyterian Church. Dave was always willing to use his skills to help others. He supervised the building of 25 houses with Habitat for Humanity, went on nine mission trips to the Dominican Republic and traveled on numerous trips with Presbyterian Disaster Relief after Hurricane Katrina to clean up and rebuild. Dave loved planning, planting and nurturing God's creation. He especially loved all the colors and varieties of dahlias, his raspberry patch and the wisteria that covered his deck. Everyone who met Dave was blessed to enjoy his easy smile and witty sense of humor. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by SMITH FUNERAL HOME, New Wilmington, PA.
