David E. Weichert

HELLAM David E. Weichert, 62, died Thursday, January 19, 2012, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret A. (Resh) Weichert. Mr. and Mrs. Weichert observed their 41st wedding anniversary on October 18, 2011. David was born in Hellam on July 27, 1949, the son of the late William J. and Idella Mae (Leber) Weichert. He was a 1967 graduate of Eastern High School. He was a retired Pennsylvania State Constable and was formerly employed at York Casket Company. David was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart. His memberships include Faith United Methodist Church of Hallam, York County Firemen's Assoc., York County Fire Police Assoc and the Retired Constable Assoc. He is a lifetime member of Hellam Fire Company and Kreutz Creek Valley VFW Post 7045. In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by a daughter, Kelly L. Doll and husband, Barry L. of York; two grandsons, Mitchell and Alexzander Doll; one sister, Carolyn Almoney and husband, Charles of Hellam; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn A. Doll. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service 1111 E. Market St., York. Officiating will be Rev. Alison Grove and Rev. John Knapp. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
