LAKEVIEW – David R. Witt, 59, of Lakeview, Ohio, passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at his home.
Dave was born on April 6, 1955, in Westerville, Ohio, to the late Franklin and Mary Ann Henry Witt.
He is survived by two children, Jason (Tonya) Witt and Brittany Witt, both of Lakeview; three grandchildren, Bryson Witt, Michaela Arnold and Miranda Arnold; two sisters, Tonya Witt and Becky Witt, both of Columbus; and two brothers, Michael Witt of Columbus and Mark Witt.
Dave was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from working as an environmental removal safety manager while he lived in Colorado. He had also worked for Conrail and as a truck driver for many years prior. Dave enjoyed music, riding motorcycles and horseback riding. He was an excellent cook and artist. He loved his children and was extremely proud of them.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at SHOFFSTALL FUNERAL HOME, Lakeview with visitation one hour prior. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, beginning 2 p.m. at Gretchen and Old Dad's Place.
Contributions may be given in his name to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Gift Processing Administrator, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172.
Arrangements are in the care of Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Condolences may be expressed at shoffstallfuneralhome.com.
