Dean Louis Osberg

Dean Louis Osberg 74, of Lorain, formerly of Vermilion, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Lorain after a lengthy illness. Born February 28, 1936 in Sandusky, OH he had lived in Vermilion until moving to Dataw Island, SC in 1988 and Sebastian, FL in 2002. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard serving from 1954 to 1958. Dean worked as a Pipe Fitter for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #42, Norwalk for 38 years retiring in 1996. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Vermilion. He had been a member of the American Legion Post #397, Vermilion Boat Club, and the NRA . He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and photography. Survivors include his wife of 53 1/2 years Deborah (nee Penney) Osberg of Lorain; son, Richard (Linda) Osberg of Lorain; 2 daughters, Kimberly Osberg of Jasper, TX and Deborah Clark of Vermilion; granddaughters, Erin and Lauren Osberg; grandson, Ryan Clark; and sister, Patricia Smith of Vermilion and Ft. Pierce, FL. . He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Lenora (nee Otto) Osberg. Friends may call Friday, September 10, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Grace United Methodist Church, Coen and West Lake Roads Vermilion, OH. The Reverend Joan Skelley-Watts will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
