Debra Lee Hartmann

Debra Lee (Wheeler) Hartmann, 58, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on May 18, 2017. Debra was born in Springfield on June 2, 1958 , a daughter of Donald J. and Elsie (Richter) Wheeler. She was a step daughter of Denise Wheeler. She was the wife of 14 years to Craig S. Hartmann. Debra was a life long resident of Agawam. Debra attended Bay Path College and Springfield College graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology in 1986. She worked as a Quality Assurance Manager of food technologies and medical devices for 20 plus years . Debra will be remembered for her active and adventurous life. Debra enjoyed traveling, running, skiing, hiking, biking, gardening and antiquing. Debra was also an avid mountain climber having climbed many peaks.In addition to her parents and husband Debra leaves a daughter, Samantha W. DeBiasio and a son, Nicholas R. DeBiasio both of Agawam; her siblings, Susan Shea of Shelburne Falls, Donald “Donnie” Wheeler of Springfield, David Wheeler of Agawam, and Carol Burns of Southwick. Debra also is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces , nephews, cousins and friends. The family will gather and receive friends from 4:00PM to 7:00PM on Thursday (May 25, 2017) in the Colonial Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam.A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Friday (May 26th, 2017) in St. John the Evangelist Church, 823 Main St., Agawam.Flowers may be sent or if you wish to make a memorial contribution it may be made to Dana Farber Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215. www.forastiere.com
