Sr. Delbert Lee "Del" Day

Delbert Lee Day Sr., born on September 9, 1928 in Summerset, Kentucky, to the late Mildred and the late Robert Day, he passed away at age 89 on August 24, 2018 in Batavia, Ohio. Delbert served in the Army Reserve from 1951 to 1956 in the Korean War. Delbert was the beloved husband of the late Maurine (Davis) Day for 65 yrs. He was preceded in death by his sons, Delbert Lee Day Jr. and Michael Wayne Day; his twin brother Albert Lee Day; grandmother, Mary McWhorter; and grandfather, William McWhorter. Delbert is survived by his son, Bruce Vincent Day; daughters, Debra Ann Day, Joan Elizabeth Meyer, and Melissa Lynn Winters; grandchildren, Denise Findlay, Derek Wardwell, Joshua Day, Brittany Meyer, Corey Michael Colwell, and Casey Matthew Colwell; and 9 great-grandchild. He had a passion for fishing and the Reds. Friends and family members may attend the funeral service on Friday, September 14th from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Georgetown Veterans Home, 2003 Veterens Blvd, Georgetown, Ohio, 45121. Military Honors and burial will be at 3 pm at Mt. Moriah Cemetery at 686 Mt. Moriah Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45245
