She was born April 5, 1941, in Spangler, the daughter of Anthony Sr. and Delia Polisky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell G. Yahner Sr., whom she married June 25, 1960; a brother; and three sisters. She is survived by her children: William J. Yahner, Quincy, Calif.; Mitchell G. Yahner Jr., Lawton, Okla.; and Kim M. She graduated from John Carroll High School Class of 1960. Dee became a licensed practical nurse in 1978 and spent the rest of her life working in the medical field. For the past 15 years, Dee worked in and around the Duncan Regional Hospital, either as an LPN or a hospital volunteer. She was a common presence in the hospital gift shop. For the past few years, Dee also worked for the Duncan Red River Vocational School as an instructor for medical certifications, helping a younger generation enter the medical field which she held so dear. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. Interment, St. Bernard Cemetery, Hastings. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Chisholm Trial Hospice, 2000 W. It was a blessing to meet Delia. She was very kind and gracious to me. We had a good prayer together. To the family...may God's peace fill your heart.
