Denise Lockhart Obituary
Born in Herrin, Illinois in 1961, she grew up in a small mid-western town in a large and loving family. After high school graduation, she earned her associate degree in Business and headed straight to Texas. Soon thereafter, she married and her son Rodney was born in 1986. She was a single mother for several years when she met and married her soul-mate, Bill Lockhart, and embraced his daughter, Erin Lee, as her own.
Denise worked in the property tax field alongside her husband until stricken with cancer. She fought a courageous battle for a year with the steadfast support of her family until the end.
Denise is survived by her husband Bill, son Rodney Michael Singer and step-daughter Erin Lee Lockhart, mother Wilma Threlkeld, sister Terri Sue, a large extended family and a host of loving friends.

We were really good friends in high school and lost contact after we graduated. Time passes too quickly. She had such a positive attitude and a beautiful smile. Fond memories linger every day.

Denise was a real sweetheart. I'm sorry that she is gone from this earth but hope she made a commitment to Christ and is living cancer free in heaven for eternity.

Denise and I grew up together; her mother was my mother's best friend. It is sad we didn't stay close as adults. She will be sorely missed by many. Love and prayers for you all, especially Wilma, Terri, and her family.

So sorry to hear of her passing. I had no idea she was in a battle with cancer. We had lots of great times at church when we were younger.
