Denise Stephenson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 1, 2025.
Denise Yvette Stephenson, age 67, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, in Fresno, California. Born on April 21, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, Denise lived a life marked by compassion, faith, and unwavering love for her family and community.

Denise dedicated many years of her life to the nursing profession-a calling she embraced wholeheartedly. Her commitment to caring for others was evident in the way she served her patients with kindness and diligence. Nursing was not just a job for Denise; it was a reflection of her deep empathy and desire to make a difference in the lives of those around her.

A woman of strong faith, Denise was a devoted member of Cornerstone Church in Fresno for many years. Her spiritual life was central to who she was. She loved God deeply and trusted Him throughout her journey, drawing strength from her beliefs even in challenging times.

Denise's warmth and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and created lasting bonds through her kindness and sincerity. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and she will be remembered for the love she so freely gave.

She is survived by her four sons: Anthony Paxton, Antoine Zeno, Terrell Brooks, and Travell Jones; her sisters Elvita Holmes, Kim Sherow, and Katherine Jones; brothers Tyrone Banks and Willie Jones; as well as a host of nieces and nephews who cherished their time with her.

Denise was preceded in death by her beloved mother Barbara Jean Johnson and father Carey Stephenson.

Though Denise is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her memory bring peace and comfort to all who mourn her passing. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM at Balm of Gilead Global Ministries 860 East Twain Avenue #106 Las Vegas, Nevada 89169
