Dennis Daniel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 26, 2024.
Dennis C. Daniel, 81, of Arlington, Texas climbed the stairs to heaven on November 15, 2024. Dennis was the eldest child of Heston and Martha Daniel and was born in Spokane, Washington in 1943. Dennis was known as a dedicated Eagle Scout who was always prepared for anything, thrifty and would help anyone in need. Dennis was a proud LSU alumni ('68) earning a Bachelors in Business Administration. It was while he was a college student that he would meet his wife, Margaret. They were married in 1967 and the marriage would include two children.

Dennis grew up in a military family and having a commitment to serve in his own way he spent more than 30 years with the Army and Air Force Exchange Services (AAFES). His management positions would move the family all over the U.S. and W. Germany during his professional career. When not working, his passion and often times his superpower was being a handyman. Margaret would love giving him a honey-do list and he would revel in all the fixer upper tasks around the house. Often he would create his own projects and there was very little he could not either fix or build himself. One of his final DIY's he would even earn an electrician certification so he could complete all that was needed himself. Above all though Dennis loved his family. He and his daughter, Christine, shared a passion for history and ancestry spending years researching the family tree. He would do almost anything for family, friends or a neighbor.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father Heston Daniel, mother Martha and her twin brother George W. Harding, and beloved wife Margaret F. Daniel. He is survived by his daughter, Christine, and son-in-law Paul M. Lacy. Son, Michael G. Daniel. As well as his sister, Marcia J. Harding, and niece Michelle Schaefer and nephew Philip Standlee. Along with many other treasured family and friends who will remember him with fondness.

In lieu of services, those wishing to honor Dennis' memory are encouraged to make a contribution to the American Red Cross and/or simply turn on some old Country or Classic Oldies music, grab a bag of buttered popcorn, his favorite snack right up to the very end, and reminisce your personal fond memories of Dennis.

Too many good memories to list, but I will always be grateful to Dennis for being a wonderful husband to my sister, Margaret, and a devoted father to my niece and nephew. You will be missed, Dennis. It was a true honor and blessing g to know you. I´ll see you on the other side.

Hello from Canada. I am so sorry to hear of Dennis´s passing. He loved his summer home up here in Nelson and we enjoyed his company. Always a gentleman bringing flowers when he came for dinner.

Dennis was a great roommate at LSU. When Dennis proposed to his future
wife, Margaret, after only knowing her for a few weeks we told him that he
was crazy! He was the only roommate of the four of us that did not go through
a divorce in our lifetime,
The enclosed pictures are of Dennis and my other roommates at my 1967 wedding and Dennis at an Apt. party at LSU with a date. Rest in peace my friend. Andrew Hershey

For any other family and friends that read this, please leave any memories you would like on this site. Please include photos if you have them. I am his daughter and I would love to read the stories and see the photos. Sharing one of my favorite photos and memories of my Dad, who loved the funnies in the paper and when I was little he would read them to me.
