Dennis Eggemeyer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 31, 2025.
Crystal Lake, Illinois - Dennis C Eggemeyer born 11 June 1949 in Quincy, Illinois to Oscar W. Eggemeyer and Lorena Beauxchemen Eggemeyer, passed away on 25 July 2025, at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, Illinois. A resident of McHenry County for the past 25 years, Dennis was formerly of Springfield, Illinois. He is survived by his daughter Juliet Eggemeyer, son William (Bill) Eggemeyer, and daughter-in-law Beth Eggemeyer.

Dennis was a graduate of Lanphier High School and Eastern Illinois University. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Caitlin Clark. He enjoyed bowling, spending time at his local bar, and traveling with his partner Gina. His fervor for golf began in high school and he remained an enthusiastic golfer throughout his life. Dennis enjoyed parks and nature, finding peace and joy in the beauty of the outdoors. Dennis was also taking selfies long before it became the cool thing to do, using any unattended family or stranger's camera, he could get his hands on.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful doctors and staff at McHenry Northwestern Hospital and JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, Illinois for their compassionate care and support for Dennis during his final days.

Dennis is also survived by his siblings Dore Skeels, Dona Eggemeyer, Donald (Carlene) Eggemeyer, Dwight (Sue) Eggemeyer, nieces and nephews, his partner Gina, and her daughters Amy and Carrie, and their families.

Memorials may be sent to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Community Outreach Game Night. This is part of his daughter Juliet's work with the homeless. The church address is 2645 Old Jacksonville Road, Springfield, Illinois 62704.
