A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008, at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Billy Seate and Ben Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served six years on active duty with the U.S. Army and 26 years in the N.C. Army National Guard, retiring with the rank of master sergeant. He was a past commander of American Legion Post 46.
Survivors include wife of 54 years, Bertha Meehan Goodwin of the home; sons, Dallas D. Goodwin of Atlantic Beach and Dennis M. Goodwin of New Bern; sisters, Norma Goodwin Boyd of Morehead City and Aileen Goodwin Olkowski of Havelock; brother, Leonard Goodwin of Sea Level; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 900 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC 28557 or the American Legion Post 46 Baseball Program, 1502 Chip Shot Drive, Morehead City, NC 28557.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Munden Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. of Morehead City.
