Dennis "Denny" Kuhlman, 65, Onawa, Iowa passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Burgess Health Center at Onawa. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010 at First Christian Church at Onawa with John Sears, Minister. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa. Dennis Leon Kuhlman was born October 15, 1944 at Onawa, the son of Wilbert and Esther (Longlee) Kuhlman. He was raised in the Moorhead, Iowa area where he attended Bethesda Lutheran Church. He graduated with the class of 1963 at East Monona High School. Denny and Linda Caldwell were united in marriage April 8, 1965 at Onawa. He served in the United States Army reserve at Denison, Iowa. Denny was employed at various businesses and in 1972 started driving trucks. He drove for Hunt Trucking the past 25 years until his illness. He enjoyed woodworking camping and spending time with his family. His dog, Abby was a true companion; always waiting for his attention. Survivors include his wife, Linda of Onawa; seven children, David and his wife Annette of Modale, IA, Mark and his wife, Michelle of Onawa and McKenzie, Taylor, Caleb, Colton and Chiara Kuhlman all at home; grandchildren, Torrey (Mandy Wood), Breanna (Robbie Wells), Brady, Kody, Darby, Kolby, Alyssa and Dylan Kuhlman; his mother, Esther Kuhlman of Whiting, IA; parents-in-law, Orville and Roberta Caldwell of Onawa; siblings, Ronnie (Trudy) Kuhlman of Council Bluffs, Norman (Judy) Kuhlman of Moorhead, Carol (Johnny) Kress of White Wood, SD, Judy (Bob) Glassburner of Omaha, NE and Doug (Cindy) Kuhlman of Onawa and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.
