Dennis will be best remembered as a good family man and avid sports fan. There are many memories to relate; here are the highlighted ones to me: He was the best at driving a team of horses. While in high school, he served as mgr. of basketball team and sometimes let me 'tag along' with him. He was always a dedicated employee and had a wonderful, long marriage. His love of sports took him on many trips (sometimes he invited me) throughout his adult life. He took his Mom to Forbes Field to see a pro-game when she was nearly 90. To everyone surprise, she enjoyed the experience. Dennis really loved his mother. Once when he invited me to attend a WVU basketball game, as we found our way through the bleachers, Jack Fleming, WVU's radio announcer, said loud & clear over the intercom: "There's Dennis Nelson from Pittsburgh; he will be cheering for WVU." I think one of his sports' highlight was being an official for The Masters Golf Classic. He never forgot his 'roots' from Boone Co.. He collected items and kept a priceless scrapbook that he created from reading the Coal Valley News and attending other note-worthy events. He enjoyed the friendship of Bob Atkins as they did some travelling together. He always wanted me to dress more neatly. I am proud to be his brother; he has loved me and showered me with many special gifts. When he worked at Haddad's, he gave me the BEST wool shirt that I ever owned. I will always remember him with love and be thankful that I was his brother. His life left a good impression on mine. With love, Don, Jr.

Uncle Dennis I will never forget your family trips to Boone County. We always came down the end of your trip so the next week when we stayed Grandma would have plenty to tell us about your family stay. My favorite story was Randy riding a hog. May God bless all of you. Still a Browns fan. Albert
