Dennis Quinn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 20, 2019.
Nov. 16, 1942 - Nov. 5, 2019 Denny, son of Vada and Dan Quinn, was born November 16, 1942 in Des Moines, IA and raised on a farm in Lenox, IA. He grew up with four brothers and a sister, and married the love of his life, Sandi Sue Jergler on August 19, 1961 in Phoenix, AZ. Together they had two children, Daniel Wayne and Michele Marie, and moved to Washington State where they built a wonderful life of 40 years with so many friends and family, before returning to Arizona to finish out their retirement. As Denny, also lovingly known to most as D.W., passed over the rainbow bridge at the age of 76, he is survived by his wife, Sandi; son, Dan (Heidi); daughter, Michele (Jason); brothers, Jeff (Joan) Quinn, Tim (Jana) Quinn, Terry Quinn; sisters-in-law, Laurie Quinn, Carol (Milt) Minor; two grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Ellsworth and Jamie (Catherine) Christensen; five great-grandchildren, Zachary, Isabel, Carl, Jack and George; along with many nieces, nephews and generations of relatives across the country. Preceding Denny in death are his parents, Vada Evans Quinn and Dan Quinn; brother, Doyle; sister, Debbie; and brother-in-law Bill Bayly; mother-in-law, Emily; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Gerry; as well as grandson, Caleb William James. Denny had a love for his entire family, but also, a love for his horses. He was an avid rider and longtime Backcountry Horseman member where he made many long-lasting friendships. Denny also had a gift for building, since age 16, where he built a career in the commercial construction industry; as well as owning his own business, building custom homes. Denny was also a very proud Vietnam veteran where he served as a Seabees member of the construction battalion in the United States Navy, where he trained with both the SEAL team and Army Special Forces (Green Berets). The family would like to give a special thanks to loving friends, Karen James, Jake James, Kenny and Anna Payne, and Kevin and Jill Garratt; as well as the doctors, nurses and support staff at Arizona Oncology in Tempe, AZ for all of the care and support they have provided in the last few years. Services were held at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ, where Denny was put to his final rest.

Donald Kohler retired Electrician and worked for Sequoyah Electric.
We ran into a guy last night that come to find out he knew and had worked with a common fellow a Superintendent for Turner Construction named Denny Quinn, I first met Denny on the Redmond Ridge Trillogy project about 2001, I normally don't do construction because I'm a service Electrician but times were slow and this was a special project, we did both the design center building first and then the community center building over about a year and a half, later Denny would just call me up and want me to swing by because he had other projects for me to do like the 400 amp temporary service for the million square foot warehouse for Safeway in Kent, I believe he retired off this job and I had lost track of him after that. We joking called Denny the"Mule Hurder" because of his association with and love for the NW Packers Association.
Our condolences to his family and other friends of which I count myself as one.
