DIANE MARIE
Diane Marie Glenn (Goodyear) (Soggs)(Barton), age 63, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 20, 2013, at McLaren Hospital in Flint. Her family was with her in her final hours. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 4th from 5 to 8 pm, funeral service Thursday, September 5th at 1pm, at Sharp Funeral Home, 6063 Fenton Rd, Flint, MI, Pastor Cecil Noronha officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery. Following the burial, a luncheon for family and friends will be held at 3:30 pm at Bristol Road Church of Christ, 1315 W. Bristol Road, Flint. Contributions can be made to the Diane Marie Glenn Memorial Fund (Sharp Funeral Home, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, MI 48507). Diane was born May 29, 1950, to Robert and Deloris Gean Schafer. She was adopted as a child by Sam and Lauretta Chapman. Diane had two families, and loved them both. Prior to adoption, she was named Bobby Gean. Love defined Diane. She was a compassionate, caring and giving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was especially known for many years as a vigorous and successful Salvation Army Bell Ringer. She shared her life with four husbands,
Bill Goodyear, Fred Soggs,
Rick Barton and Clifford Glenn, whom she married on February 14, 2012. Clifford's loving and dedicated care sustained Diane and allowed her to continue
living her motto of "I love life," despite her declining health. She will be greatly missed by
all who knew her. Diane is
survived by her husband, Clifford; her daughter, Rebecca Simpkins; three sons, Christopher Goodyear, Robert Goodyear and Shane Soggs; grandchildren, Nicholas, Autumn, Christopher Jr., Jacob, Alicia, Robert, Jaicee, Jasmine, Shane Jr. , Ashley and Skylar, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters, Laurel Chapman, Kim Brown and Linda Schafer; brothers, Ward Chapman, Samuel Chapman, Timothy Clark, Timothy Bronson, Billy Ray Schafer, and Pastor Kevin Joe Schafer; many friends who called her "Mom;" and former husband Bill Goodyear. Diane was preceded in death her four parents, brothers Daniel Yalda and John Beard, granddaughter Christina, and former husbands Fred Soggs and Rick Barton.

11 years and sometimes it still feels like it did that first day you left us. I miss you and I only wish you could see the life I´ve made my for myself my kids would have loved you as much as we all did. I love you till this day gone but forever in my heart miss you lots love jazzy

My mom.... I was the first child love in her eyes and she always made me feel special even despite the fact that i had 3 other siblings she never showed favoritism. she treated the youngest with love because, he was the youngest. she treated my sister with love because she was the girl. she treated my brother with love because he had special needs.I always thought i was last in line now she is gone and i realize, i was first and had my special place too and so did she open her home and her heart, health and, her pocket book to so many others that i can remember so many times threw out her life many called her mom and i never cared cause she was really my angle and always will be there. she will always be there now that she is in haven with the lord and dancing with all our other angles. she was the last one of my safe places and I'm upset with that because, now i have to be my own person and she left me some very large shoes to fill in my family because, now i will have to be the pillar or the safe place to my siblings children and grandchildren as she was for me thank u mom for all u taught me the work is done rest in peace. now you are number one. love forever your son Chris Goodyear

Diane was my mother Priscilla's best friend and was like a mother to me. Im so happy we found each other again many years ago. She was always there for me and i could talk to her about anything. Diane was my grandmother whom i loved very much. We have shared so many wonderful fun memories. Ive always believed that I got my self confidence from her because she had more confidence then anyone i ever knew or known. She was so beautiful and I always looked up to everything she stood for. I will miss her smile that lite up the room and i will miss getting her favorite mint chocolate chip ice cream because a sweet tooth runs in the goodyear family. Grandma thanks for watching me as a child because i know you will always watch over me and my family in paradise. Thanks for always believeing in me when no one else would. This wonderful woman whom i knew half of my life was always smiling all the time always glowing, I never ever saw any pain and she never even complained about anything!!!Even though she was blind with her eyes, she could see everything with her heart!!!!She is already missed and loved very much!!!!!God bless Diane Glenn!
