The Broken Chord

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Oh Julie...I'm shocked and saddened by your loss. I have very fond memories of Rick during my Freshman year at Brebeuf...he was in my class and made life bearable in those days. I remember card games on the bus ride to and from school, I remember we both tried out for wrestling and were cut...we were both pretty bad at it. I remember seeing him at HSS games and walking around the neighborhood. I'm truly, truly so sorry for you and your family. If we truly believe what we were taught as kids, he is still with us in spirit and we will see him again when we are all reunited with the Lord.

Rick was truly one-of-a-kind. I'm not sure I've ever known a man more proud of his family than Rick. There is no doubt in my mind that he's in Heaven watching over each of you. I know I have been blessed for knowing him.

I worked for Rick at DiversaWeb Printing. He always had a joke to tell and his giggle made them even funnier. I know he loved his family so much. I am thankful for all the knowledge he passed to me about printing. I pray for strength for Julie and all the kids and family.
