In Loving Memory of Dolores M. (Mongillo) Winans

Born January 26, 1935, in Danbury, Dolores passed away peacefully on December 8th at the age of 89.

Dolores graduated from Danbury High School in 1952 and the University of Connecticut, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1957.

Predeceased by her husband Charles A. Winans, Dolores is survived by her sons Christopher and Helen (Brickfield) Winans, Danbury, Timothy and Christine Winans, Litchfield,and Matthew Winans and his partner Susan Hixson, Scituate, MA., and her grandchildren Grace (Winans) and Christopher Jackmin, Raleigh, NC and Peter Winans, Brooklyn, NY.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 11th at 11:00 AM at St Rose of Lima, Newtown, CT. A repast will follow at Sal e Pepe's Restaurant 97 S Main St, Newtown. To help us plan accordingly, we kindly ask that you RSVP for the repast by Jan 8th to [email protected].

In her memory, donations may be made to the Meals on Wheels Program, in care of the Western CT Area Agency on Aging, 84 Progress Lane, Waterbury, CT 06705.

I would like to send our Sympathy to Dolores`s family. my husband and I have known Dolores for many years as she had hired us to take care of her husband`s gravesite, making sure it was flowered and well kept looking. She always liked to have it maintained every memorial day with an American flag always. she was always so grateful and we as well, to have known her. Whenever I see a dusty Miller plant, I will always think of Dolores as that was her favorite to be placed yearly. Again my condolences to your family and sincerest sympathy, Don & Sheryl Fredericks

My memories of Dolores are filled with the friendship Tom and I were privileged to have ....with her and Charlie, ...raising their boys into successful young men. Chris, Matthew ,Tim , I am so sorry to read of your mom´s passing. But I smile as I remember all the good times we had with your family. Bless you all.

Dolores and I enjoyed having our lunches together, laughing, and reminiscing about the past.
I will miss Dolores greatly, she was a wonderful woman.
