DONALD HERSHBERGER Obituary
Age 74, a Moon Township resident for 44 years, also served in the U.S. Air Force, passed away unexpectedly from heart complications on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born on the family farm in Clinton on April 29, 1939 to the late Charles and Jean Margaret (Inglefield) Hershberger. He was raised on Neville Island. Beloved husband and best friend for 51 plus years to Sandra (Wise) Hershberger; proud and loving father of Sheri Landa of Moon and Melissa Saloom (Eric) of Hopewell; cherished grandfather of Alyssa and Justin Landa and Jacob Saloom; brother of Joyce Jolly, Deborah Abbott (Ken) and the late Merle "Wayne" Hershberger; brother-in-law to Pat Hershberger; also nieces and nephews. He was an active and faithful member of Sharon Community Presbyterian Church and always at his wife's side as volunteer extraordinaire for West Hills Food Pantry. He retired in 2000 from Montour Run Waste and Water Treatment Plant as Superintendent. He was a "real firecracker" but a gentle man with a kind spirit. His smile would make his eyes sparkle. He will be greatly missed. Visitation Tuesday 12-4 and 6-9 at COPELAND'S MOON TOWNSHIP, 981 Brodhead Rd. Please meet at Sharon Community Presbyterian Church for funeral service on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Roger Howard will officiate. Burial will follow with military honors and dove release at Coraopolis Cemetery. Family welcomes flowers or donations in his name to West Hills Food Pantry, 522 Carnot Rd., Moon Township, PA 15108.

Sandy and family. Don was an incredible person, and I'm so glad our lives crossed over the past several years. He was a remarkable man, husband, father, friend. I will absolutely miss him, but I will never forget his smile and his genuine caring for my family and me! Sandy and family if we can help in anyway please lean on us for support. May god bless you all, and may Don be at peace. I will keep my memories of him close. Thinking of you all on this day.

Words can not explain how I feel right now .. This SOB will miss him and I know its been such a long time since I seen you guys. But Every time I cut my grass I think of him. I still cut it the way he taught me ... You ladies are in my heart ...
