Donald Paul Knechel, 60, of Coopersburg, died July 8 in Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. He was married to Pamela J. (Casey) Knechel for 14 years last August. He was a construction superintendent for Strencansky & Co., Center Valley, for six years. Previously, he worked for Biehn Construction Inc., Quakertown, for 23 years. Born in Perkasie, he was a son of Anna (Harner) Helfrich of Perkasie and the late Paul O. Knechel. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown. Survivors: Wife; mother; daughters, Abigail R. Bacak at home, Kimberly A. Ottinger of Palmerton; sons, Keith A. and Chad, both of Quakertown; brother, Wayne of Souderton; sisters, Patricia Gross of Quakertown, Janet Rinehimer of Perkasie; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews. Services: 2:30 p.m. Monday in the church. Call 1:30-2:30 p.m. Monday in the church. Arrangements, Norcross-Weber Funeral Home, Allentown. Contributions: Visiting Nurse Association of St. Luke's, Bethlehem, or to the church.
