Donnie Gentry Obituary
Donnie was born February 17, 1966, in Cartersville, the son of Clyde Gentry and the late, Betty Jo (Mauldin) Gentry, was employed at Carmax and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Gentry of Ft. Myers, formerly of Cartersville, two children, Christopher Lee Gentry and Amber Nicole Gentry, of Ft. Myers, his father, Clyde Gentry and his wife, Liz of Cartersville, brothers, Ricky Gentry, Kenneth Gentry and Steve Gentry and his wife, Natalie, all of Cartersville and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Russell officiating.
Burial will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Sid Pascoe, Jason Panky, Keith Clark, Ed Ayers, Jimmy Smith, David Mauldin, Andy Simpson and Tommy Gentry.

May Donnie Rest in Peace. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. I had the opportunity to work with Donnie at CarMax over several years. Donnie was a positive energy to all. Donnie always had a smile on his face and brought both a smile and laughter to many. It was both a pleasure and a honor to have the opportunity to know him and work with him. He will be truely missed, but not forgotten. May God be with your family.

I am so sorry for not being there for the family, as I just read about Donnie's passing. I worked with Donnie and Kenneth at Cartersville Fence Company in the mid 90's and he was a very nice, polite individual and always full of laughter. Donnie will surely be missed.

I cannot tell you when I first met Donnie, we were too young. We were in the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grade classes together. I was so sadden by the news. I pray God' strength to the family and friends of a special person.
