Dora Grossman Obituary
She was born Feb. 19, 1906 in Lithuania to Harry and Ada (Pollack) Lurie. Mrs. Grossman worked as store manager of the former Lurie?s Market in Kittanning, and was previously the owner of Grossman Insurance Agency in Kittanning for 19 years. She was a 1924 graduate of Kittanning High School and was a long time resident of Kittanning. Mrs. Grossman had been a member of the former Kneseth Israel Congregation, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of Beth Shalom Congregation in Butler. She was a life member of Hadassah. Survivors include a niece, Adele Lurie of Costa Rica; a great niece; and a step-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome C. Grossman who died Oct. 16, 1946; three brothers, Isadore, Meyer and Abe Lurie; and a stepbrother, David Lurie. GROSSMAN ? There will be no public visitation for Dora Grossman, 97, of McKean Street, Kittanning, who died Sept. 28, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Beth Jacob Cemetery Chapel, New Kensington, with Cantor Adrian Caplowe officiating. Burial will be in Beth Jacob Cemetery.
