Doris Brooks Obituary
Doris was born on July 12, 1945, in Reading, PA, to the late Harold and Pearl (Frey) Zern. She was a graduate of Boyertown High School, earned a bachelor's degree from Millersville University, and a master's degree from Temple University.
Before retiring, Doris taught many years at Oaks Elementry School, for the Spring-Ford School District. She loved traveling and loved visiting places around the world.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Melanie A. Brooks, wife of Christian V. In, Frankford, DE.
Friends may call from Noon to 1:00 PM, Monday, August 11th, at the Good Shepherd Mausoleum Chapel, Limerick Garden Of Memories, 44 E. Arcadia Dr., Limerick, PA 19468. Burial will be private in the adjoining cemetery. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe, PA.

My cousin Doris was 8 years older but was always so nice to me as I was growing up. She always had time for me and showed interest in what I was doing, whether at home or at our grandparents´ house. She always called me her favorite cousin, though I think that was after my brothers went to college! I will always remember the Millersville shirt that she got me for my birthday after she went on to college. I have to believe she touched the lives of many, many elementary school children during her teaching career. She was loved my many and will be missed.....Don Gerhart
