Funeral services for Doris Meyer, 79 of Giddings, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner and Rev. Joshua Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Saturday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Doris Marie (Mitschke) Meyer was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father on September 8, 2022. She was born March 25, 1943 in Ledbetter, Texas to Otto and Evelyn Mitschke.

She is preceded in death by her infant son, Darrel D. Meyer; parents, Otto and Evelyn (Becker) Mitschke; brother, Larry Mitschke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alwen and Mary Meyer.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Otis A. Meyer; son, Galen M. Meyer; daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Alan B. Roberts; granddaughters, Jennifer and Doak Dunkin and Allyson and Jacob Heiner; grandchildren, Bendyl Dunkin and Doak Alan Dunkin and Emory Heiner; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Lory Mitschke; sister-in-law, Janice Mitschke and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Immanuel Lutheran Church, MD Anderson Cancer Center Pancreatic Cancer Center, or the organization of your choice.
