Doris Moss Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 10, 2025.
Doris Helen Moss went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 19, 2025. She went to join her sweetheart of 70 years," ...at the big rock on the right, just inside the Pearly Gates." That's where Dad always said he would wait for her to join him.

Doris was born Oct. 2, 1933, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Agnes and Bill Leonard. She had an older brother, Dean, and an older sister, JoAnn. Years later, the family moved to Redding, California, where Grandpa Leonard worked on the construction of Shasta Dam. Doris completed high school in Redding and then married Charlie Moss, the love of her life, in 1951. They had two children, Ann and Charlie. In December of 1962, the family moved to Mt. Shasta. Charlie was responsible for the construction of sections of Interstate 5, working for the Division of Highways. Doris took good care of her family. After a devastating car accident, in 1965, Doris decided to broaden her horizons, and she became a realtor. In 1972, after becoming a Broker, she opened Doris Moss Realty. She was very proud of her agency, founded on integrity and customer service. Even after she retired, the company kept her name on the door. It represented honesty and integrity.

Doris loved her Lord, her church family, her family and friends. She and Charlie had 5 grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Mom had many friends she loved like family. She never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Now she is Home, reunited with loved ones and friends who have gone before her.

Celebration of Life will be held on June 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Weed Berean Church 2515 US-97, Weed, CA 96094.

We´re ever so thankful to have known Doris through our church, coffeehouse and when she and Charlie drove Dianne to Redding for cancer treatments. They were neighbors, friends and always helpful in our community. Her love for Jesus just bubbled out to everyone and we know she was welcomed to her eternal Home joyfully.

Doris drove me down to my radiation treatments back in 1997 when I was getting cancer treatment. (along with other friends on various days) during the El Niño that year. One day it was raining so hard that even with the wipers on full speed, we could not properly see out the window! We swore it was guardian angels that got us there safely on those days!
Thank you friend.
We will see you in Heaven!
