Dear Binder family,
Dr. Binder was me and my mommy's doctor up until the time that he closed his practice. My deepest condolences to Mrs. Binder and daughters. Going to see him always made me feel better no matter how I arrived to the office feeling. He was kind, caring, personable, and professional, which gave each visit a comforting experience. Praying that each day gives you comfort knowing so many people appreciate and loved your love one.

Dearest Rana and girls, It is a fine tribute to Doug as husband, father, and physician that he still evokes such beautiful memories in the lives he touched. Doug was one of a kind and will never be forgotten. His legacy of kindness and caring live on in each of you everyday. And in that way his presence remains with us. May you be blessed with deep peace. With much love and affection, Margo and Sam Sciarrotta

Dadz, I can't believe it's been almost two years since you departed. It feels like just yesterday, but also a long time ago. I miss you terribly and do everything I can to keep your legacy alive every day. As hard as it is for me to not have you here on earth, I am just in awe of how blessed I was to have the greatest man I have ever met as my father. I hope you know I always felt that way. So many people love you and I hope you realize that. Please give Muffie some snuggles for me--I know that we'll be together again. I love you more than anything else in the world.

While this last year has been difficult for Rana and his daughters, I know Doug would be so very proud of the many adjustments they made. His love and example gave them the strength to confront daunting hurdles. The road has not be linear and they all became better equipped to deal and grow.
Warmest affection,

Dr. Binder was an angel to our family. When my son was diagnosed with leukemia, he made sure that we got to the right doctors...the doctors that saved his life. He was a great doctor and a great man. Rest in Peace, Doc.

I was so sad to hear about the passing of Dr.Binder. I worked at SLRC for many years with him. After I retired I would see him at PEAC & we would chat. He was always so cheerful and had so much energy! It was a pleasure to have known him. May your entire family find comfort with the fond memories you have of your husband & Dad. He gave so much to others and now may he rest in peace. God bless all of you! Ginny Verdi

I am deeply saddened by the news of Dr Binder's death. I was saddened similarly when he closed his practice since it was always a joy to go for my regular checkups. I began seeing him when I first moved to Princeton in 1985 and he was always interested in my teaching there at the theological seminary. I continued to travel to see him after moving to Delaware. I will cherish his memory always. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of a truly wonderful person.

I was shocked to hear about Dr. Binder, he was my Mom's doctor at St .Lawrence in 1990 and we all loved him. He became our family doctor and all of my friends went to him. He was at my Mom's side when she died in 2003. He was not only our doctor, he was a friend, always someone I could count on. I was so sad when he closed his practice. May God bless all of you. To Mrs. Binder and family,
Dr. Binder was not only a wonderful physician but a dear friend. He cared for each and every one of his patients as if he had known them for a lifetime. I began seeing Dr. Binder in my early 20s and was deeply saddened when he closed his practice. To this day, I have am difficulty in finding a replacement physician because he was one of a kind, a rare breed that is hard to find. He gave so much of himself to family, friends and patients alike. He was a warm, kind, wonderful, loving human being. I am so very deeply sorry for your loss, I know that he will be missed by many who share in your sorrow.

So very sorry to hear of Dr. Binder's passing. Dr. Binder was our family physician for over 25 years until he retired from his practice a couple of years ago. He was a great doctor who truly cared for his patients, always making time for them. I really looked forward to talking with him at my doctor appointments, as he was so caring and warm. Not many doctors are like that today. He will truly be missed by many, many people. God Bless you all during this difficult time. You are in my prayers.

Dr. Binder was a good man and a wonderful doctor. Having moved over the years, I most recently saw him a year ago, while I was a patient at St. Lawrence. Although many years had passed, he still remembered me, and my family and asked about everyone, including aunts and uncles. I was shocked to tell you the truth.
God Bless Dr. Binder and my sincere sympathy to his family.

Doug was a childhood friend of mine in Queens Village, NY. He was a kind and caring person and a good buddy. Once the Binders moved to Roslyn, we were able to stay in touch for a while, but as we went off to college, we lost contact. I can only imagine how wonderfully his attributes as a young person translated into the kind of adult and professional he became.

Dear Rana, I still have the card Doug gave me in 1994, when he was my doctor at St. Lawrence Rehab. I was comforted by his professionalism and kindness. Years later we met and I cherish our friendship. Doug always came up to me at the gym with a smile and warm greeting. You were a couple to be envied. The mutual tenderness of you two is inspirational for others.
Doug will be received in loving peace. Our love of animal friends will be at his side. He provided hope and comfort to many. Now, he will have a little creature at his side. His love for you and your daughters is everlasting.
My warmest thoughts are with you,

Mimi and I were shocked to hear of Dr. Binder's passing. We went to him for care for years until he closed his practice, and even though we may not have been feeling particularly good when we arrived, a visit with him was always more that just a "doctor's visit." We could talk with him, joke around and kid with him, and leave feeling that we had gotten exactly the right kind of care. I remember getting pleasant greetings on those occasions when Mrs. Binder was filling in as nurse, and I also recall enjoying Lilli's artwork that hung in the waiting room. He is definitely missed, and we extend our deepest condolences to the Binder family.
