Douglas Clark Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 22, 2020.
Mr. Douglas David Clark died unexpectedly in San Antonio on April 22, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 52.
Doug is survived by his parents, David and Claire Clark of Narragansett, Rhode Island; wife, Stacy Clark of San Antonio; daughter, Alexis Clark of San Antonio; stepsons, Alex Kosanke of Fort Worth, Texas, and Joseph Mizell of Lakeland, Florida; sister, Laurie Connors (Jay) of Warwick, Rhode Island; granddaughter, Kalistia Kosanke of Fort Worth, Texas.
Doug was born on October 3, 1967 in Warwick, Rhode Island. He graduated from Scituate High School in 1985. He then graduated from URI College of Education and Professional Studies in 1990 with a degree in Radiology. After graduation, he moved to San Antonio, Texas to pursue his professional career as a Radiology Technologist. Doug was also a Paramedic & as an Instructor during his career. At all times, Doug provided excellent care and compassion to his patients and coworkers during his 30-year career.
Doug was an accomplished photographer and writer. His articles and photography appeared in several Radiology and other publications throughout his career. Doug was passionate about continuously pursuing knowledge and sharing that knowledge with others. He was known to have a rough exterior and yet, be a teddy bear on the inside. Many referred to him as "Bear" for that reason.
A Celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date when it is safe for his loved ones to gather without the restrictions that are currently in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Animal Defense League of San Antonio at https://adltexas.org/donation/
The family would like to thank the Emergency Department staff at North Central Baptist Hospital for providing excellent care & compassion.

Doug,
You were an amazing man that I was fortunate to have in my life. You loved me with every part of your being. You gave me love like no one else. I still can't believe you are gone. I am grateful for our life together. I will miss everything from simple breakfast after work & playing with our fur-babies in the backyard to date nights & Caribbean vacations with you.
I left work this morning & started to text you my usual "omw...love you"...so many little things we took for granted that will be missed.
I want you to know that I take your Jeep for a ride every few days. I just know it would make you happy. I might have added a pink steering wheel cover to make it a little more girly. I know you wouldn't mind.
It is amazing how many lives you touched. Your presence will remain with so many of us. There is so much I could say but the most important is that I love you so much & will miss you every day.

Today the world lost one of my closest friends. My brother in every sense of the word except blood. My heart breaks for his wife, his daughter, and the rest of his family. He was an incredibly protective person and would stop at nothing to defend anyone he felt was his. In a world of lemmings , be a bear.
Rest easy my friend, we got it from here.

It's hard to put into words all the thoughts and feelings one goes through after a loss. However, I feel like I must try. People come in and out of our lives. Some move on to other paths. Sometimes we move away. Sometimes we just grow distant. Sometimes death takes friends from us.
It is the last situation that can be so difficult because there is a physical permanence to it. We don't always know that a conversation may be the last. We don't know when we wake up that there will be one less friend to call, text or meet up with.
When someone passes from this world, I ask myself "did they know what they meant to me? Did they know how much I appreciated that relationship?" Maybe they didn't, but I do. So I take this opportunity to honor them. I honor them by trying to take what I admire most about them and do my best to add those characteristics to my life.
So tonight I honor Doug Clark. I will try to write more. I will try to smile more. I will try to encourage others more.
Thank you for being a friend and a good influence.

I am at a loss for words. Doug was one of the most intelligent, caring, kindhearted souls I've ever met and there wasn't a thing he wouldn't do for anyone. I remember going to work and seeing his jeep in the parking lot and knowing it was going to be a great night. His smile and laugh were infectious and he'd always begin the night with hey kiddo. The world was a better place because of him. My heart hurts for you, and I am so incredibly sorry. Whenever he spoke about you and yalls fur babies his eyes would light up! I am so so sorry. You and your entire family are in Brittanys and I prayers.

We lost a friend, teacher , big brother, and teddy bear today. I was driving down the highway when I received the news, and it didn't really sink in right away. Then in a moment I realized that I wouldn't get to hear him laughing, cutting up, smile while talking about his wife, daughter, or grand baby. Stacy Lynn, I'm so sorry for your loss. You don't need any of us to tell you how great he was. Just know we are thinking and praying for you and your family

It is with deep deep deep sadness that we say good bye to DOUG CLARK ... his wife Stacy and her family have been a long time member of our ceramic family and we have grown to love each of them ... Doug loved the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean and loved the oceans and the gulf ... this is something that we both loved and appreciated .. Doug left us way too soon and way too young !!! He is in heaven today ...most likely enjoying the crystal clear beautiful sea .. and it's wonderful beaches .... this hurts deeply and will hurt for years and decades to come ! Please be in prayer for the family and friends as they grieve ....and prepare for a memorial service sometime in the future and will follow it with returning his ashes to the waters he dearly loved ... you will be missed Doug ... fair winds and following seas !!!!❤

I still don't know what to think or say. We just became friends this last year and had the most epic vacation together in Jamaica. Due to this pandemic, we never had the chance to get back together after returning. It did not take me long to realize what a great person Doug was, and if I feel somehow cheated by his passing, I can only imagine what those who knew him for years are going through.

Doug Clark was my home away from home when I worked nights at Thousand. Id spend many nights sitting by him as the doc and rad chairs are clustered together. He was such a character, and we shared an affiniti for photography. His time came too soon for us all. Thank you for sharing Doug with us, our family away from our family. We love him and will miss him dearly. He made me cry with laughter with regularity, and now hes left us with tears thinking how much is presence will be miss.

I grew up with Doug in Scituate, Rhode Island and all of us in the class of '85 mourn with you, because for some reason those of us from this pretty little scenic New England town are like brothers and sisters. It's something unique to Scituate and Doug was one of those people that helped make it that way. I am utterly shocked and sickened to hear of Doug's passing. He made coming on Facebook and interacting with him again a joy. To everyone here in the Ocean State we send you our love and pieces of our broken hearts. Some people say someone will be missed when they pass away, but with Doug it is actually true. Stay safe and strong.

I want to cry hearing this. Doug was one of the first people with Georgia that took me under their wing when I came to San Antonio. He never carried a water bottle but would get a patient pitcher for his water during shift. (which he said "that's cause I need a Doug sized cup") He called me "G's little minion" because her and I were attached at the hip. We played games with the staff and he always had a great story to tell about something that was "fallen upon". He was a mentor, my bodyguard for crazies with Bill and my friend. I know he's taking photos of heaven with his camera and is loving every minute. Gonna miss you brother, rest well cause we have the watch now.

Dear friend, you leave behind some of the biggest shoes that will never get filled by anyone else on earth. You'll be remembered for your kindness, always had my back in the chaos of aggressive patients in the ER, always doing what was right for others and forsaking yourself. I still remember when you and Stacy Lynn started dating and the stories she shared with me made me blush and jealous ❤! I know she loves you very much. I pray whole heartedly more than ever that you Rest In Peace and that your family will be able to rest knowing that you're no doubt an angel in heaven. Lots of love and farewell Doug.

Dear Doug,
Your death came sudden and unexpected. Words cannot express the sadness we are feeling. You will always have a special place in our hearts. Many years ago, you and I had a five year marriage in which we were blessed with our beautiful daughter Alexis Violet. I ask you to watch over her from heaven just as I promise to do the same from here. RIP

Doug, brother is what you will always be to me and Renny. You have touched our lives and that of our girls so much. We miss you terribly and will love you forever. We're glad you're not in pain anymore. We'll see you again someday and what a reunion that will be.
Be free my friend

Dear Daddy,

I am grieving, but I am at peace. I am vulnerable, but I am strong. I am without you, but you will forever be with me. I was raised on please and thank you's. I was raised on firm handshakes and big dreams. I was raised on keeping my friends close and enemies closer. I was raised on educating myself before speaking and respecting what was not mine. I was raised on good music and Jeep rides. I was raised on family and the ocean.

Daddy, I will one day purchase the Jeep that we have talked about since I was five, I will one day walk down the isle and marry the man of my dreams and I will one day give birth to your first grandchild.

I promise to dance in the rain, live in the moment and to always remember who I am. Please keep our family safe and watch over my future. Thank you for 23 uninterrupted years of unconditional love, respect and honor. To the beautiful memories we have shared together, and to the ones we still have yet to create, I will always be your little girl and you will always be Alexis' Dad.

XOX, your muffin, lil critter, mini me and bestest buddy.

I'll love you till I'm 99,
Vi.

Big Bro, you will forever be my protector. I was so proud of you and all your accomplishments. I promise to live like the doors and roof are off the Jeep! "And when you stop to wonder why we ride this carousel, We do it for the stories we can tell."--Jimmy Buffet.
I love you and you're always in my heart!
