Douglas Laub Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 15, 2024.
Douglas Lee Laub, a man whose zest for life was as boundless as his generous spirit, passed away on December 6, 2024, in Florida. Born on February 19, 1976, Douglas grew up in Buena Vista, Colorado, where he graduated from Buena Vista High School. From there, he embarked on a remarkable career in the Heavy Civil Construction field, rising to become one of the most respected General Superintendents in the industry. Known for his tireless work ethic and exceptional leadership skills, Douglas earned admiration from colleagues and peers alike.

A devoted member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Daytona Beach, Florida, Douglas lived with an infectious enthusiasm that touched everyone around him. Whether through his professional achievements or his personal connections, he left an indelible mark on his community.

Outside of work and faith, Douglas embraced life's joys with gusto. He was an avid football fan who never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite team. In the kitchen, he was known for cooking up delicious meals that brought people together. His adventurous spirit often led him to explore exotic destinations-a testament to his love of experiencing all that life had to offer.

Douglas is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend, Sandy Laub; his son, Brad Laub; his daughter, Ashley Laub; and his cherished granddaughter, Aviana Laub. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma and Donald Laub; as well as his nephew Michael Laub.

Services will be held after the holidays in Daytona Beach, Florida. Details will be announced at a later date.

Douglas Lee Laub's legacy is one of joy, hard work, and unwavering love for those around him. May the memories of his vibrant life bring comfort to all who knew him.

I first met Doug in New Mexico, we went for a spin in his Jeep that he loved..he was always smiling and full of life.
We had the chance to visit him and Sandy this year in Florida and see their new amazing home in Margaritaville then head over to Daytona Beach for an awesome dinner.
You will be deeply missed and prayers for this tragic loss. Your family is in our prayers

We were close cousins growing up with Doug and his family. I babysat them, and we would feed him funny things when he came to the 4K´s Cafe. I remember when we went to a family reunion in Minnesota. My mom got us rooms at a nice hotel through her work. They had happy hour and a nice indoor pool. When Doug found out about it, he said, "We love Aunt Barbara, he he he," and laughed his funny, chuckling laugh. Lorna James-Cervantes
