Douglas Olson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 1, 2025.
Doug Olson, a loving son, brother, and uncle, passed away February 12, 2025. He was 65 years old. Doug's parents met in Pakistan, where they were serving as missionaries (1956-1965). While living there, Doug was immersed in the Pakistani culture and, through the example of his parents, learned about sharing the love of Jesus with others. When Doug was six years old, the family returned to the States, settling in northern New Jersey. He graduated from Parsippany Christian School and then attended County College of Morris, where he studied Engineering Science.

Doug worked in several settings, most often using his keen observation and problem-solving skills. He worked as a Class C Auto Technician, Auto CAD Specialist, and Range Hood designer. He was noted for his ability to effectively and clearly communicate technical information to non-technical individuals. He could converse knowledgeably on many topics, especially those related to politics, health, and the Bible.

Doug loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He taught a class on Psalms Meditations at Eternal Life Christ Church in Hackensack, where he was regularly involved with the services, especially the prayer meetings. He was known for his powerful and heartfelt prayers for our country.

Doug Olson is survived by his brother-in-law, Tim Rogers, nephew Michael McCarthy and his wife Heather and their children, Rosealyn and Malachi. He was predeceased by his father, C. Gordon Olson, mother, Miriam Moffatt Olson, sister, Joyce Olson Rogers, and nephew, Thomas McCarthy. His father's wife, Dottie Olson Wagner, whom he married after his first wife died, passed a few months after Doug entered eternity. No doubt they are all together in heaven, kneeling and worshipping before their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
