Douglas Pearce Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 30, 2024.
Elk River - Douglas M. Pearce passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024, surrounded by family at the Beehive Homes in Elk River, Minnesota. Private services are to be held.

Doug was born on March 11, 1952, to John and Jean (Mitchell) Pearce in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He married the love of his life Kathy on August 29, 1981, in Holdingford, Minnesota. They went on to have a beautiful family, with one son, Paul. Doug worked as a police officer for the Stearns County Sheriff's Office for over 25 years. Later in his career he became the Chief Deputy for the department.

He enjoyed reading Civil War books, walking his dogs, Murphy and Dusty, having BBQ's, traveling the states for family vacations and spending time at happy hour. He adored spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, who he loved so dearly. Doug will be remembered for his loving, kind, loyal, patient, soft spoken, and selfless nature. He was a jokester who loved to get a prank in and make people laugh. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, and brother. He was a bright light in so many lives and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kathy of Elk River, Minnesota; son, Paul (Megan) of Plymouth, Minnesota; grandchildren, Graham, Jack, and Madeline; brothers, Jeff (Vikki) of WA, and Brad (Julie) of NH; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and niece Hannah.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to The Parkinson's Foundation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Dare's Funeral Home in Elk River, Minnesota.
