Hey Speedy,

I wanted to say that I never forgot about you and that you and your family are in my prayers. I think about the time when we were training the reserve unit for their MSC mission. You always busting jokes saying they are not going to get it (a few cuss words added). I wish when we were in Spain and were chatting outside of the commissary, that I could ask more about how are you doing. Miss you bro.

I served with Doug in Kingsville Texas and all I saw was an amazing super star and American Patriot. He was a mentor, leader, and one hell of a guy. I was shocked to hear of his passing and will miss him. He was a good friend and a hell of a shipmate with whom I trusted with my life! R.I.P. Doug!

I am at a loss for words. You made my time down in GTMO bearable w/ your corny jokes and the talks of our wives and families. You're going to be missed by many. Your GTMO family will miss you for sure! My deepest condolences to Glenda, Aaron, Justin, Taylor and the rest of the family. Doug & I spent time in Guantanamo together and we talked a lot. He always spoke very highly of his family & we laughed a lot. If there's anything you need. Feel free to contact me.

I never got to know Doug but I got to know his daughter Taylor. It is a great representation of the man by his children. His memory will live on in his children. Taylor is a loving and caring person and that's because the way she was raised. My prayers go out to his entire family. God bless.
