Dr. Ki Taick Boo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 5, 2024.
Dr. Ki Taick Boo, 83, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA.

After graduating from Catholic Medical College in Seoul, Korea, Ki moved to the United States in 1966 to pursue his dream of being a doctor and serving others. His career in medicine spans over four decades, starting in Albany, NY as a resident intern and then eventually setting roots in Allentown, PA where he served on the medical staff at Cedarbrook Nursing Home and Lehigh Valley Hospital, in addition to running his own private internal medicine practice.

Ki is survived by his wife (of 55 years) Yoonja (Chang) Boo, his son Jonathan Boo, daughter Julie Rassler (wife of Don Rassler) and grandsons Leo and Aiden. Ki was also the oldest brother of three siblings: Kian Boo, Kiwon Boo, and (the late) Kiwuk Boo.

Ki loved spending time with family (especially his grandsons) and was an avid car enthusiast.

Patients will remember Ki for his compassionate bedside manner and commitment to providing the best quality care. Family and friends will remember Ki for his calm and thoughtful nature as well as his generosity and loving kindness.

The family will hold a private service to honor Ki's memory. In lieu of flowers, they kindly request your support and condolences during this time. You can also honor Ki's memory by hitting the road to enjoy your favorite drive.

His very kindness to my parents and my family. We thought of his wonderful care for so many years we were sad when he retired, glad he had a nice long one.

Sharon and Tom souders and my parents are already in his office in heaven.

Dr. Boo treated four generations in my family. He treated my grandfather, my mother and father, myself, and my daughter and son. That is a great doctor and person.

I thank Dr Boo for his wonderful care of my Mother Anna Dickerman and made house calls during her hospice care.
He saw something in me to pursue a career in the medical field and hired me in his own office for 7 years. He taught me how to do medical testing and clerical duties. Looking back I should have stayed with his practice.
He enjoyed telling jokes. He told everyone his wife married a Prince and he turned into a frog. He enjoyed conning the salesmen out of their best pens. He insisted they bring us lunch every Wednesday. He was probably the best employers I ever had and I had many. So many fond memories of shopping at Hess Brothers during a cancellation or attending the Korean Festivals or dinners throughout the year.
My prayers to his beautiful wife Yoonja and Family at this difficult time. Sending love.
