Dred Levy Obituary
A Memorial Service to celebrate Roy's life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010 at Memorial Baptist Church in Killeen, TX with Pastor Joe Daggs officiating.
Roy was born July 18, 1964 in Belton, Texas to D.R. "Tooter" and Vivian Levy. He was raised in Killeen, TX and made Killeen his home for the past 45 years. He attended and graduated from Ellison High in 1982.
He was very active in the community. Roy was baptized by Pastor Joe Daggs and has walked hand in hand with Christ through his daily life since. He was an active member of the Maxdale Cowboy Church. Roy was on the Board of Directors for the Killeen Junior Livestock Show, was an Adult Leader with the Trimmier 4-H group, where he was able to spend quality time with his children, who were also active.
Roy worked 26 years with Atmos Energy and played a vital part as a key employee.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Hallmark Levy; maternal grandmother, Cleo Hallmark; paternal grandfather, Roy C. Levy; paternal grandmother, Jo H. Levy.
He is survived by his sons, Alex Levy (22), Cord Levy (22); daughter, Avery Levy (14); father, D.R. "Tooter" Levy; brothers: James Guthrie of Killeen, David Guthrie of Belton, Kenneth Guthrie of West Virginia.
Serving with honor as pallbearers will be Jose Guzman, Kelly Brown, Flint Hughes, Tom Jacksics, Al Meschke, Guy Bob Hilliard, Dewayne Lisenbe and Brad Reavis.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Roy's memory benefiting the Levy children to First National Bank 507 N. Gray Killeen, Texas 76541.
Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.crawfordbowersfuneralhome.com.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

Ole Roy..Not a day goes by that Brandon and I don't think about you.We Will live life to its fullest everyday just as you did, and continue making "Fort Spann" looking good so you can come take it from Brandon and I! :) Love and Miss you very much! I met Roy when he attended the Building Customer Confidence class I was facilitating. He was the life of the class and kept everyone laughing and interested in the material. My deepest condolences to the entire Levy family. Roy was a friend to many, thoughtful and kind, and always had a wonderful smile. I've known Roy since elementary school and we graduated EHS together. Through his job our paths continued to cross all these years. It was obvious Roy truly lived his life & loved the life he had been blessed with. I am proud to to say he was a friend and I will miss him.
To the entire Levy family, I know very little can be said to bring you comfort during this difficult time--Please know I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

It is with great sadness that I read this obituary about Roy, I met Roy 2 years ago in Dallas at Atmos Spirit. I did'nt know Roy very long but I could tell rght away he was one heck of a guy and will be missed very much. Alex, Cord, Avery, Family and Friends, we have lost a very special person and my prayers go out to you during this difficult time.
I remember when I met Roy back in high school during our FFA activities. Roy always had a smile on his face or something really funny to say. When I turned 16, he was my very first "official" date...you know the kind, where the guy walks up to the door, meets the parents, goes through an interrogation that the FBI would be proud of, then and only then could you go out on the date. As with all things, Roy handled it with style and finesse, so my parents gave us the "okay". We've remained friends throughout the years and have had many laughs. God Bless you Roy...you will be missed!

I met Roy at a party on my very first and only visit to Texas to see family after losing my Uncle to a heart attack. Angie and Steve took me to the neatest party at some dear friends of theirs and Roy "Levy" was the funniest person at this party, he had me and my cousin in stitches the entire time! He was so charming and funny that we talk and laugh about his jokes and stories to this day and that was in 2008. I am so sorry for the loss of this lovely man, I will lift his entire family and friend circle up in prayer for your peace and strength and that the memories you have of him will become more and more vivid as time goes on.

I can remember Roy when we were little kids. Our Mom's were best of friends. We would always play together. Then we moved to Troy and did not see each other until the bell county youth fair a couple of years ago. I am so glad that I was fortunate to see Roy and talk with him. Tooter, James and family...My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. As we grew older, I didn't see Roy a lot, however; I was fortunate to see him on occasion and even last Thursday.
