Eddie Mauney Obituary
He was born in Kings Mountain to the late David L. Mauney and Betty S. Mauney.
He was former general manager of Mauney Hosiery, Kings Mountain, and was employed with Dilling Heating and the Lake Montonia Club.
Eddie was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kings Mountain and the Kings Mountain Scholarship Fund Committee.
He was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and an avid tennis player. He loved and took pride in being the caretaker of Lake Montonia. Eddie was a wonderful and kind hearted person who was well respected and loved in his community.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years: Roxanne Rhea Mauney, Kings Mountain; son, David Ryan Mauney, Reston, Va.; daughter, Sarah Jane Mauney, Raleigh; brother, Kenneth Mauney, Durham; sister, Sarah Jane Mauney Rhea and husband Joe D. Rhea Jr. Kings Mountain; mother-in-law, Martha Sue Rhea, Kings Mountain; sister-in-law, Debbie Rhea Walker, Boiling Springs; nephews, Trenton Rhea and Chad Walker; niece, Heather Walker White; numerous beloved cousins.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, at First Presbyterian Church, Kings Mountain, with the Revs. Greg Martin and Jerry Millwood officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain.
Interment will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the family during this time of grieving and loss. Eddie was such a fun-loving person and full of life. I enjoyed being his neighbor growing up and will never forget his kindness to my family, even as a youngster. May God Bless you all and plant memories of Eddie in your lives forever.

Strange, I was just talking about you, Eddie, a few days ago. I was telling my wife about our grammar school days together, and playing on your zip line in the back yard. You and your family treated me well, and I've never forgot it. So sorry to hear of passing.
