Edith Donovan Obituary
She is survived by her husband, Bernard Donovan; four children, Alice Mckee of West Fork, Ark., Graham Sones of Waverly, Minn., Anya Donovan-DeCook of Rochester, Michael Donovan of Zumbro Falls; and 10 grandchildren.
Maria died Aug. 30, 2016, at her home on the farm, while surrounded by her children and husband, Bernard Donovan.
Throughout life, Maria pursued a wide variety of interests. She raised Arabian horses, a tradition started by her father who brought the first Arabian horses to Minnesota. Artistic endeavors that she pursued from childhood include painting, drawing, sewing and metalwork; her work leaves behind a record that demonstrates her uncanny resourcefulness, creativity and sense of humor.
Without a doubt, Maria's many friends, her four children, grandchildren and husband will continue to find inspiration by her achievements in this life. She is at peace today, forever riding in the woods.

My family bought our first Arabian FILLY FROM DR. CHARLES M and that sale began a lifelong friendship with Maria whom we called Mary and her brothers, Ned & Joe. I am at a loss as I just learned of her passing....I adored her, her sculpture and art work and many of the Arabian horses she had, but most of all Mashi. I am so saddened to learn of her passing...may she find Gasama, & Magnat and ride with the wind! I was indeed blessed to know "Mary"!
