Edward Francis Dougherty III, 72, passed away on March 3rd, 2025, in Palatine, Illinois. Born on August 1st, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, Edward lived a life filled with laughter, love, and devotion to his family and friends.

A proud retired Teamster for Local 714, Edward dedicated his career to hard work and camaraderie. Beyond his career, he was known for his warm heart, quick wit, and playful sense of humor. A true prankster at heart, Edward had a knack for bringing joy to those around him with his jokes and lighthearted spirit.

Edward was deeply family-oriented and cherished the time he spent with loved ones. He was a devoted father to Brittany and is reunited in passing with his daughter CJ Dougherty. He was also a beloved brother to William Dougherty (Diane), Mary Moore, and Michael Dougherty (Sue). Preceded by his loving parents, Jean and Edward Dougherty Jr. His role as an uncle brought him great joy as well.

A lifelong fan of the Chicago White Sox, Edward's passion for baseball was unwavering. Whether watching a game or reminiscing about past seasons, he found great enjoyment in supporting his team. Music was another love of his life; he found comfort and happiness in listening to his favorite songs. Above all else, Edward valued the moments spent surrounded by family.

A man of faith, Edward was a devoted Catholic who carried his beliefs with him throughout his life. His kindness and supportive nature reflected the values he held dear.

A visitation will be held on March 13th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, located at 201 N Northwest Highway in Palatine, Illinois. A burial service will take place on March 13th, 2025, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois, located at 1400 S Wolf Rd in Hillside, Illinois; services will be held at the chapel.

Edward's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His humor, kindness, and unwavering love for family will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
