Edward Fasiska Obituary

Dr. Edward J. Fasiska, PhD, 77, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, the Feast Day of Our Lady Guadalupe. Dr. Fasiska was the son of late John Fasiska and Mary E. Fasiska. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Deborah Dobransky-Fasiska; daughter, Desanka Noelle Fasiska; his late brother, John Fasiska; his sister, Florence Corbin; his nephews and nieces, John Fasiska, Kelly Brinker and Cindy, Todd, Rona and Chris Corbin. Dr. Fasiska will be forever in the hearts and minds of his beloved extended family, friends and in-laws, including Edward, Mark and Eric Dobransky, Denise Fuller and Valerie and Rachel Dobransky. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rory Dobransky and Carol Pawlikowski who gave Dr. Fasiska special loving care in his final years. Dr. Fasiska is remembered for his many accomplishments. He was a former vice president of Mellon Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, the co-founder of Materials Consultants and Laboratories; he went on to be the principle research scientist for major laboratories in the United States as well as published several scientific peer-reviewed papers in the physics and materials science community. His philanthropic achievements include serving on boards, including the Latin American Children's Fund, which the family requests donations are made in honor of Dr. Edward J. Fasiska. Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014. Arrangements are by STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6191.
