Edward "Ed" John Jurczak passed from this life peacefully in his sleep on to his eternal home on April 22, 2019 in Frisco, Texas. Ed, who was 76 years old, was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 11, 1943 to Stanley and Irene Jurczak. He was the third born of three children. Ed shared his childhood with his brother, John Lesczynski and his sister, Victoria Strzepek.
As a child growing up in Chicago, he was a blessing to his family, bringing much harmony and happiness to all. Ed was a mascot to his older brother's softball games. He had a great sense of adventure. He graduated from Gordon Technical High School in 1961. He served in the United States Air Force from September 1961 until September 1965. He saw over 34 countries. Ed was a beloved member of the Frisco ISD community and loved working at Independence High School as a Parking Lot Attendant. Driving his cart, putting out the cones for the buses and hanging out with the coaches brought him so much joy. He loved working with kids and educators
In 1969 Ed married his sweetheart Danita Pauline. Together they had four children; Carrie, Stacie, Michael, and James. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was humble, kind, loving and giving of his time. He loved his family and always put them first. He adored being a father and grandfather.
His two lovely sister-in-laws Doreen and Deanna nicknamed him 'Sideburn Eddie." Ed loved Trivia of all kinds and music especially jazz, blues, and music from the 50's 60's and 70's. He enjoyed history and was an avid Chicago sports fan. He loved being near water. He liked baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and lemonade. He enjoyed the movies Cool Hand Luke, Blazing Saddles, and old John Wayne movies. His favorite actors were John Wayne, Paul Newman, and Steve McQueen. He could often be heard saying "Who shot the toe off the dog" and loved telling the story of the Coca-Cola River.
At the time of his passing he was a member of the St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church in Frisco, Texas. Ed was father to Carrie, Stacie, Michael and James and grandfather to Jack Ermence (22), Taylor Ermence (20), Jonah Jurczak (13), and Logan Jurczak (13).
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Jurczak; his mother, Irene Jurczak; his brother, John Lescznski; his dogs Abbey Ermence, Trudy Jurczak, Chava Jurczak, and his childhood dog Rex Jurczak.
He is survived by his spouse, Danita Jurczak of Frisco, Texas; daughter Carrie (Jurczak) Ermence, her husband Mark and their children Jack and Taylor of Frisco, Texas; his daughter Stacie Jurczak of Lewisville, Texas; His son Michael Jurczak, his wife Mary (Orel) and their son Logan of Little Elm, Texas; his son James Joseph Jurczak and his wife Jessica (Vest) and their son Jonah of Frisco, Texas;. Ed's life will live on through his children and grandchildren.
Ed was loved while he was with us here on Earth and will continue to be loved through time and eternity by his Family and Friends. He will be dearly missed, however celebrated. As they say in Shawshank Redemption, "Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying."
