Edward Roghair, age 73, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. Funeral services will be Monday, April 10, 2006, at 1:30 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Sibley. Rev. Tom Voigt officiating. Burial in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-7 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley. Edward John Roghair was born on October 11, 1932, in Ireton, Iowa. He was the son of Nicholas and Dora (Dirksen) Roghair. He lived his youth in Alton, Iowa, where he attended a country school. He received Christ as his Savior, at the age of 19. He was united in marriage to Judy Howard of Sibley, Iowa, on January 5, 1956, in Hospers, Iowa. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on January 5, 2006. They lived in Sibley, Iowa, Sioux Center, Iowa, Worthington, Minnesota, and presently in Sibley. Edward was a general laborer all of his life. When he was younger he shingled and sided houses in his spare time. He drove truck, worked construction, and since the year 2000, worked for Supreme Egg Products in Sioux Center, Iowa. He loved his family and grandchildren; his family loved and respected him, and will always look up to him. They will always remember birthday suppers and Promise Keepers. He enjoyed family reunions, baseball and going out for coffee with the guys. He was also blessed to know his dear friend in Christ, Peter C. Runia, for the last 20 years. Ed never hesitated to say that Peter's unconditional friendship was a special blessing to him. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sibley. Edward passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, Iowa. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Judy Roghair of Sibley, IA; his children: Jill Renee and David Vander Platts of Ashton, IA, Debra Kim Roghair of Sibley, IA, Julie Teal Roghair of Sibley, IA; his grandchildren: Tess and Mike Betz and Lindsey Senn of Sibley, IA; his great-grandchildren: Jude Betz and Tucker Senn of Sibley, IA; one brother: Nicholas Henry Roghair; three sisters: Hermina Wichers of Alton, IA, Harriet Boone of Hull, IA Alvina and Gene Fenske of Knoxville, AR.
