Ed Boomer and Jack (ding) we were great friends. Pizza and Pepsi at Ma Schmidts house. Lots of sloppy joes and Pabst blue ribbon after we both got out of the service with our wife’s on saturdays. I moved to Colorado but connected with Boomer in Georgia and he kept me up to speed on Ed. Rest in peace my friend. Never forgotten.

Ed was my best friend since first grade. He was the best. We played football.baseball and basketball. He was always the most talented guy on the team but better yet the guy everyone liked. After I moved away to Atlanta we kept in touch. Ed always called me on my birthday. Rest In Peace pal!!!

Elaine and family - we send our condolences. Ed was Boomers best friend since they were SIX yrs old. Went to elementary, high school played all sports together, was in our wedding at our reunions, our 50th wedding anniversary dinner. There may have been 1,000 miles between us but the friendship continued 75 years. That’s what you call best friends forever. He Looked forward to the Phone calls with lots of laughter, deep conversations golf stories, etc. He will be missed and fondly remembered. One of the nice guys who loved God, country, his wife, children, grandkids and friends. What a wonderful legacy! RIP “Smitty”

It was a honor and privilege to know Eddie. Although we started out as colleagues on the Milwaukee Police Department, we and our families became good friends. I will cherish memories of sports, hunting, fishing, as well as, the laughter and shenanigans of family get togethers. He will be greatly missed. We know he made it to the good place and will look over his family and the rest of us. Until we meet again good friend.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Ed Schmidt at Milwaukee P.D. at the 3rd district, starting in 1977. He was a great cop and a great guy. We also played softball together. I am not able to attend, but, wanted to extend my sadness and sympathy to you all. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
