Edward Thiel Obituary
A graduate of the University of Illinois, Edward was known for his love of trains, a passion that extended into his volunteer work at the Illinois Railway Museum. He enjoyed train spotting, fishing, miniature painting, and model building.
Edward was a loving son and a dedicated father, remembered for his kind nature and his humor, often brightening the lives of those around him with his love for puns and his extensive trivia knowledge. He was also deeply passionate about sharks and contributed to their conservation efforts.
A private memorial service will be determined and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edward's memory can be made to the Illinois Railway Museum or the Shedd Aquarium. These contributions will honor his memory and support the causes dear to his heart.

Hello everyone, I am Gary Rozanski cousin of Eddie. I had a great friendship when we were kids. All the cousins and nephews would get together at our grandmas house to have family reunion's. He treated every one of us with respect and kindness to help us with anything since he was the oldest cousin there. Recently Eddie asked me if my Mom would want a custom knife made to show his appreciation of her service of almost 20 yrs as a Marine. In his words she was one of kind Aunt and the Knife he was going to make from hand was as well. Eddie was also one of a kind Father, Friend and Role-model. You will be missed!
