Edward Vatterott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 15, 2019.
Vatterott, Edward C. Ed fortified by the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on January 11, 2019. Beloved husband of Christine (DiCampo); father of Nicholas, Benjamin, Adam, and Abigail; loving brother of Glenn (Cathy), Mary Beth Manninger (Michael), Steve (Martha), Jeanne Gale (Wayne), Joan Klerekoper (Fred), Matthew, and James (Melanie); beloved uncle to 22, great-uncle to 9, and friend to many. Ed was preceded in death by his loving parents, Glen and Mary C., and his sister, Julia Ann. Ed was beloved for his kindness and consideration of others, for his easy laugh, the honest and open love he held for others, and his devotion to his family. For many years, Ed owned and operated his own contracting and building firm, and in recent years oversaw construction and project management for Cedar Creek in New Haven. Ed was a devoted and loving father, spouse, son, and friend. He enjoyed the company of friends, his involvement in sports, a friendly card game, but more than anything, the time he spent with his family. Services: Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manchester, MO, Wednesday 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Society of St. Vincent De Paul of St. Louis. A service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may sign the family's online guestbook at Schrader.com.

Losing someone that we love never comes easy. It is truly heartbreaking. May God's promises in Isaiah 65:17 comfort and help you.

I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your wonderful, beautiful husband and father. Men like Ed are few and far between. Such a down to earth great guy. So fun and interesting to talk to.
I remember sharing a diet plan with him where you only eat lemons and apples for like a month! And Ed did it!! He was the only person I knew that actually followed through with that crazy thing. He said he felt cleansed . We just laughed about that. I told him I couldn't stand it for a day. Not sure why that's such a vivid memory. But we talked about alternative ideas a lot.
So so sorry. So sad for your family. I wish there were words that could help you feel better but I know there are none. I'm glad you have each other during this most difficult time.
Know that you are all in my thoughts and I wish you peace.
Paula
