Edwin Charney

CHARNEY
Edwin Daniel, age 83, of Whippany, NJ, formerly of Hillsdale, NJ, died Sunday morning, September 28, 2014. Edwin was born in the Bronx, NY on January 13, 1931. Survived by son, Todd Charney and his wife Eileen, daughter Dana Judge, four Grandchildren, Emma Charney, Max Charney, Daniel Judge and Alice Judge. Edwin graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School and attended New York University receiving a degree in Business. Edwin proudly served his country and is a Veteran of the Korean War where he was stationed in Japan. Edwin's wife of 40 years, Lynn Charney passed away in 2008. Ed was a volunteer for the Hillsdale Fire Department while living in Hillsdale from 1965 utnil 2010. He then moved to Morris County to be closer to his son. A continuous volunteer at Pascack Valley Hospital, in Westwood, he founded the "Walk in the Park" at Wood Dale Park and was an avid gardener having at one point 50 different varieties of tomatoes growing in his garden. Services will be 1 PM Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Temple Beth Or 56 Ridgewood Road, Washington Township, NJ. 201-664-7422. burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. Memorial donations in memory of Edwin Daniel Charney may be made to the Hillsdale Volunteer Fire Department, Hillsdale, NJ. arrangement are by Louis Suburban Chapel Fair Lawn, NJ.
